Koninklijke Tichelaar has commissioned studio Maarten Kolk and Guus Kusters to create an eight-part tableware series called Withering Tableware consisting of Beaker, Plate, Plates, Plate, Mug, Vase, Carafe and Bowls. For this series use is made of a special method for applying the decorations. The paintings are applied in the mold and used several times, so that it fades and so the decreasing sharpness of the images becomes a natural reflection of fading.
