Savoy Court restoration London
Location: London, City of Westminster
Commissioned by: Paye Stone
Contractor: Paye Stone
Product: glazed moulded pieces
In 2011, we were approached by Paye Stone, who asked whether we could reproduce large moulded pieces for the restoration project for Savoy Court, a late 19th century building on The Strand in London. After inspecting the facade and doing a survey with the contractor we began producing a large number of different models. Some were fairly simple but most featured complicated decorations. The complexity was magnified by the requirement that the minimal wall thickness had to be 25 mm: a thickness that we normally do not work in. Because production numbers per model only involved a few pieces, sometimes just a single element was needed, a considerable amount of time was necessary to complete such a project. In total we supplied 250 moulded pieces in 40 different models.
